Spaces
Group projects into spaces, like work and personal, switch between them in the sidebar, and keep other spaces' sessions and notifications out of sight.
A space is a named set of projects. Switch to one and Dray shows only its projects and their sessions. Use spaces to keep work and personal projects apart, or to share your screen without showing everything else you have running.
A space only changes what you see. Every session in every space keeps running.
Create a space
Open Settings (⌘,) → Spaces and click New space. Type a name and click Create, or press ⏎.
Before you have any spaces, the sidebar’s space switcher also offers New space; clicking it opens the same field.
File a project into a space
In Settings → Spaces, the Projects list shows every attached project. Each row has a menu reading No space or the space’s name. Pick a space from it. A project belongs to one space at most.
A project you attach starts with no space. It shows under All Spaces until you file it. So attach new projects from All Spaces, then file them: attached while a space is up, the project is not in that space, and the composer drops it at once.
Switch spaces
The switcher sits at the top of the sidebar, next to the settings gear, and shows the current space’s name. Click it to step to the next space. The list wraps, and All Spaces comes first. Hover it to see a dot per space.
When you switch:
- The sidebar lists only sessions in that space’s projects.
- The project filter goes back to All Projects, and the composer’s project picker lists only that space’s projects.
- If the composer’s project is outside the space, it moves to one inside it.
- If the open session is outside the space, it closes.
⌘⇧↑/⌘⇧↓and the&session picker see only that space’s sessions.
All Spaces shows everything, including projects with no space.
Rename, reorder or remove a space
All in Settings → Spaces:
- Rename: click the pencil, type the new name, click Save. Projects in the space move with it.
- Reorder: drag a space by its grip, or focus the grip and use
↑/↓. The switcher steps through spaces in this order. - Remove: click the bin, then confirm. Its projects go back to no space.
Removing or renaming a space never touches projects or sessions.
Notifications
While a space is up, sessions outside it stay quiet. They raise no in-app card and no macOS notification when they finish or ask for something. Switch to their space, or to All Spaces, to see them.
The Dock badge is the exception: it counts sessions in every space, since it names none of them.
Limits
- The list of spaces you made is kept on this Mac. A project’s space is stored with the project.
- A space switch does not pause anything. An agent in a hidden space can still ask for permission and wait there until you come back.
⌘,can be changed in Settings → Shortcuts.
